We consume music digitally—but it’s becoming increasingly passive and unconscious.
This project explores how we can reclaim emotional ownership of music through slow, intentional listening.
Users interact with 5 physical objects, each representing an emotion. By scanning them, they can layer and mix sounds on a web interface, creating personalized emotional soundscapes.
This system bridges physical and digital UX to create an emotion-driven sound journaling experience.

Physical Object Design
Shelf = a representation of a soundwave shape
Each object = a distinct emotion (e.g., Nostalgia, Peace, Joy)
3D modeled in Spline3D

Sound Design
Pro Tools and MIDI for creating melodies and sound mixing to create ambient layering soundscape

Web Interaction System
NFC scanning triggers a dedicated sound page
Tap to mix emotional sound layers
Emotion filters (reverb, low-pass, etc.) amplify mood
Framer for UI prototyping
JavaScript overrides for dynamic audio and animation

Demo Setup: 5 objects + mobile-based web interface
Each object links to a webpage with a looping ambient track
Users tap to layer sounds and apply emotional filters
Home page displays a digital shelf of all “collected” emotions
This project creates a ritual-like experience where emotions are archived through interaction. It functions as:
A sound journaling tool for individuals
A scalable interactive merch format for artists
